Went to Bullfrog Easter Sunday to celebrate my birthday on the 1st.Carting supplies to my boat and a guy was catching crappie on the doc right before dark. I ended up catching 20. I invited Kevin to join me but he had other engagements. Sent him the crappie pics and he just couldn’t resist. We fished Halls and Moki catching a few Stipers. Managed to catch some Crappie at the dock but not like before.
So hey, let’s go north. Ended up boating about 45 stipers and couple decent walleye . I’m still learning how to fish and Kevin was patient and a great teacher. The cooler was about full and he was getting concerned with keeping them cold . Time to head back. However I wanted one more fish as Kevin caught the last 5, typical. Wind picked up so we were just drifting over his spot and he catches a few more, me none. We agreed not to leave until I catch . Another drift he caches I don’t. Yet again another drift he boats a couple more than it happened. His pole bent it said what the heck do I have. It wasn’t budging. Could it be a false hook, large cat or maybe a log. I’m annoyed cause I’m still having caught that last fish. When he finally sees it, he freaked. It’s a Huge WALLEYE . Where’s the net? This fish was big. And the cooler was already full but we made room. A lot of celebrations followed. So much for Kevin being that calm cool collective guy. His hands were shaking with excitement.Finally I caught one, to Kevin’s relieve, and we heading back.
