We have some freshly tagged walleye in the Escalante River arm, between 50-mile and Willow canyons. We did not catch any bottom bouncing or using jigs tipped with night crawlers (not from lack of effort). However, we did catch numerous walleye while spooning (figured this out fishing for stripers). If you tipped your spoon with a night crawler and kept it close to the bottom walleye showed up, 40 ft was the magic depth.
As water temperatures cool down fishing should just get better! More fish will be tagged next week watch for updates on http://www.wayneswords.com/
Good Luck and have fun!
