Not sure if this counts as a walleye fishing report...

justinkeetch2We just spent a week camping in Moki Canyon.  We fished several spots in Moki and were not able to catch any walleye.  However, striper boils were abundant every morning and evening,  and sometimes erupted in the middle of the day.  The boils may have limited our success fishing for walleye, because we were easily distracted by the boils and couldn't resist catching stripers.

While fishing for stripers,  we mainly used several variations of Heddon Super Spooks, which is a top water bait used to walk the dog and imitate a wounded fish.  We had much success with these lures even when there were no signs of boils. Top water lures are preferred for us when fishing stripers, as it is awesome to hear and see the fish explode and attack a top water bait.

We also caught several large and small mouth bass with the Super Spooks.  A buddy was able to catch a large crappie using a maniac jig, as well as several stripers, and a small mouth bass.  The kids on our houseboat had no problem catching bluegill, channel cats,  and sun fish off the side of the house boat, by simply using table scraps.  It was definitely hot but was a great trip, and we caught a lot of fish (we lost count after the first day).

I have attached a few photos.  Hope this helps and hope I can win a prize.

justinkeetch3Thanks,
