Hey there, I'm not registered on the forum but I am registered for the walleye contest. Just got got back from a wonderful week in heaven. Was just checking out everyone else's reports when I came across the call for reports needed. We spent the week in Rock Creek and fishing was pretty good when we got after it. Caught an excellent large mouth just outside Dangling Rope. And had an amazing night chumming stripers just past the floating restroom in rock Creek. We also caught a handful of smallmouth, a catfish and an untagged walleye while chumming the wall.
Unfortunately that was the only walleye. Stripers we were catching were good size, good fighters but at least half were pretty thin. Most of the catching was along a wall where water transitioned from vertical 60 feet to a rock outcropping that only sat 10 feet underwater. We fished just on the deep side of it and dropped bait 30 to 40 feet and caught fish til our arms got tired! I'll attach a few pictures. Thank you guys for all you do!
Wayne your site is awesome! Hopefully my wife can get a prize for an untagged walleye. She would be ecstatic. (She's registered too)
By the way, the largemouth was quickly released, to beautiful for me to keep. It was truly a great fish!
I forgot to add, bass were loving the strike king kvd crank baits in sexy shad color. Shallow and deep divers both. All other fish caught on swim baits and Carolina rigged anchovie heads.
Thanks again guys.
